Prayer and Worship Resources

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful” (Colossians 4:2)

St. Francis de Sales wrote, “Everyone of us needs half an hour of prayer each day, except when we are busy - then we need an hour.” Indeed! The hurried pace of everyday life often leaves us feeling as though we have no time for prayer and worship, when in fact it is communion with Christ through prayer and worship which is most necessary in our busy, daily lives. The resources provided on this page are a means to help us slow the hurried pace of this life, to the end that our hearts and minds may seek things eternal, and that we may find true rest in a personal union with the God of Heaven and Earth.

The Cradle of Prayer

The Cradle of Prayer offers recordings for morning and evening prayers and free daily downloads, read directly from the pages of 1928 Book of Common Prayer. May these readings and songs refresh your mind, heart, and soul as we walk in the path of our Lord together. These recordings were developed with you in mind, just you, in your personal need for His word and peace. As you listen, we welcome you to participate, where you might find yourself in a prayerful chapel with only your priest and cantor. It’s time made for you without the distractions of our world.

The Book of Common Prayer

CommonPrayer.org is an independent, private ministry which was founded to assist those who use the 1928 Book of Common Prayer for their daily devotions by providing the Order for Morning and Evening Prayer with the appropriate psalms, scripture readings and collects incorporated into the text, eliminating the need to flip pages and alternate between a BCP and Bible. Other features related to daily prayer, the liturgical year, and reference materials have been developed and added over time. CommonPrayer.org is a place to come and pray, and to find answers to questions about the 1928 BCP. Everyone is welcome, whatever their background or beliefs may be.
